General Questions

Miniature Dachshunds are known for being loyal, playful, and courageous despite their small size. They bond closely with their families and are wonderfully affectionate. They can be a bit stubborn at times, which is part of their charm, but they respond well to consistent, positive training. They make excellent companions for families, couples, and individuals alike.

Yes, every puppy from Harris Heritage Dachshunds comes with a comprehensive written health guarantee covering genetic and hereditary conditions for two years from the date of delivery. All our breeding dogs are tested for common Dachshund health issues including IVDD predisposition and PRA. If a covered health issue is discovered, we work with you to find a fair and responsible solution.

The price of $800 includes: age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a veterinary health certificate, microchip, a 2-year health guarantee, a welcome kit with a sample of the food your puppy is accustomed to, a breed-specific care guide, and ongoing support from our team. Our puppies are also well-socialized and ready for their new homes.

Yes, we offer safe shipping throughout the United States using pet-friendly ground transport and airline-approved carriers. We work with specialized pet transport services that ensure your puppy travels comfortably and safely. We always prefer in-person pickup at our location so you can meet your puppy and see where they were raised, but we understand that is not always possible. Shipping costs vary by distance and method.

Absolutely. All of our puppies are raised in our family home and are socialized from birth with people of all ages, household sounds, and various stimuli. This early socialization ensures they develop confident, well-adjusted temperaments. Each puppy leaves us accustomed to human handling, everyday noises, and basic house-training routines.

Of course! We encourage all prospective families to visit Harris Heritage Dachshunds by appointment to see our facilities, meet the parents of available litters, and spend time with our puppies. Visits are the best way to ensure you are choosing the perfect companion for your home. We are a family operation and we are happy to show you how our puppies are raised in a clean, loving environment.

Yes, all of our Miniature Dachshund puppies come with AKC (American Kennel Club) registration papers. Our breeding dogs have documented pedigrees and meet AKC breed standards. We are committed to maintaining the integrity and quality of the Miniature Dachshund breed.

Yes, all puppies sold as pets (non-breeding) must be spayed or neutered by 6-8 months of age. We require the buyer to provide a veterinary certificate of spay/neuter within 30 days of the procedure. This requirement protects your puppy's health and helps prevent irresponsible breeding. Puppies sold with breeding rights are priced differently and require an additional contract.
